SUBJECT: A Resolution of the City of Hallandale Beach, Florida, Setting and Amending Fees and Charges for City Services, Applications, Licenses and Permits and Adopting a Fee Booklet
PURPOSE
To adopt the revised fee booklet based on City Commission approved revenues/fees for Fiscal Year 2008-2009.
BACKGROUND
The City Commission approved various revenue fee increases during the City Commission Budget Special Meeting for the Fiscal Year 2008-09 budget. The additional revenues are an important component of ensuring a balanced budget and, therefore, staff is prepared to implement these changes effective October 1, 2008.
Various fees, including the permitted parking program and Business Tax Receipts, were also discussed during the First Budget Public Hearing held September 17, 2008 and the fee booklet has been revised accordingly.
DISCUSSION
The various fee changes and increases for Fiscal Year 2008-2009 are indicated on Exhibit A, attached. The Fire Protection Non-Ad Valorem Assessment was adopted by separate Resolution at the September 17, 2008 Special Commission Meeting.
Staff has prepared the appropriate Resolution to revise fees and service charges. Commission Policy requires Resolution(s) involving service or fee increases to be considered in the Public Hearing portion of the agenda.
RECOMMENDATION
The City Commission adopt the Resolution amending the appropriate sections of the Fee Booklet.
