SUBJECT:     Discussion of Creating an Advisory Committee for the Community Redevelopment Agency

I would like to place an item on the June 4, 2008 agenda for discussion to establish an Advisory Committee for the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Directors.  As we enter the thirteen year of the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), the CRA has established most of the necessary infrastructure to lay the foundation for the next step of redevelopment of the area. 

The CRA and the City have been proactive in going out into the Community to connect with the residents to hear what their needs and wants are.  However, I believe the establishment of an Advisory Committee to the CRA Board would be beneficial to not only the residents but the Board of Directors as well to effectively establish a constant open line of communication. 

I thank my fellow Commissioners for their support on this important issue.
