SUBJECT:     Discussion of Hallandale Beach Becoming a NatureScape City

PURPOSE

To discuss Hallandale Beach becoming a NatureScape City.

DISCUSSION

Staff from the Public Works, Utilities and Engineering Department met with representatives from the Broward County NatureScape program.  The NatureScape program is an important educational tool for the community.   This program works well with the City’s efforts to go green.  It promotes water conservation and environmental friendly practices in the area of landscaping.  Staff from Broward County would like to make a presentation on this program at the next commission meeting on March 5, 2007.

Accordingly, we have requested 11:10 A.M. as a time certain for the presentation.

RECOMMENDATION

The City Commission discuss Hallandale Beach becoming a NatureScape City.
