SUBJECT: An Ordinance of the City of Hallandale Beach, Florida, Proposing to the Electors of the City an Amendment to the City Charter Section 3.08(1) to Eliminate the One (1) Year Post Employment Restriction that Provides that no Former Commissioner shall Hold any Compensated Hallandale Beach City Office or Hallandale Beach City Employment Until One (1) Year After the Expiration of the Term for Which he was Elected to the Commission; Placing the Question on the Ballot on November 4, 2008; Providing a Ballot Title and Ballot Language; Providing for Conflict; Providing for Severability; Providing for an Effective Date. AR #026/07

PURPOSE:

The City Commission approve on Second Reading an ordinance proposing to the Electors of the City an Amendment to the City Charter Section 3.08(1) to eliminate the one (1) year post employment restriction that provides that no Former Commissioner shall Hold any Compensated Hallandale Beach City Office or Hallandale Beach City Employment Until One (1) year After the Expiration of the Term for which he was Elected to the Commission; Placing the Question on the Ballot on November 4, 2008.  

RECOMMENDATION:

The City Commission approved the attached ordinance on First Reading on February 20, 2008.  Staff requests the attached ordinance be adopted on Second Reading at the March 5, 2008 Commission meeting.
