SUBJECT:     Discussion of Requiring Security Cameras    

I would like to discuss the creation of an ordinance requiring security cameras or other security measures as determined by the Chief of Police for businesses operating 24 hours, businesses that have an extended hours license to operate after 2:00 A.M., and businesses that have a history of illegal activities.

Attached please find a Sun-Sentinel article regarding robberies at 24 hour businesses and a corresponding Sun-Sentinel survey on the same subject matter. 

Please place this item on the agenda for the January 9, 2008 Commission Meeting for discussion.
