SUBJECT:   Request for Agenda Item – Presentation of Check to the Sheriff’s Foundation

 

 


On September 22, 2007, a car wash fundraiser was held in coordination with Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO).  The purpose of this event was to raise funds to assist the families of Sgt. Chris Reyka and Deputy Maury Hernandez, who were respectively killed and injured in the line of duty.  Many people volunteered to help in this noble cause and as a result of this community effort, $1,530.00 was raised to assist these families. 

 

Accordingly, I would like to present a check to the Sheriff’s Foundation at our next Commission meeting.  This contribution will be received by the Broward Sheriff’s Office and be designated to the Fund established to assist the families of Sgt. Chris Reyka and Deputy Maury Hernandez.
