SUBJECT:     Discussion of the Fiscal 2007-2008 Budget

Although the City Manager’s Recommended Budget for FY08 is near completion, and considering the effects the adopted Property Tax Reform and proposed constitutional tax amendments will have in our City’s revenues and budget, I believe it would be prudent to have a discussion of the budget philosophy and strategies the City Commission would like to implement for next fiscal year prior to our budget workshops.  Items for discussion will include, but not be necessarily limited to: Tax Reform, privatization, and personnel issues.

Based on the City Commission’s direction, should any changes be necessary to the City Manager’s Recommended Budget, staff will incorporate same and present them to the City Commission during the upcoming Budget Workshops.
