SUBJECT:     Discussion of Commission Lunches and Meetings Rooms

There are two issues that I would like to discuss regarding our working lunches and Commission meetings. 

With the recent tax cuts passed by the Legislature and signed by the Governor the City may be facing severe budget cuts. As such, I think it is our responsibility as Commissioners to take a look at our expenses as well.  The Commission currently holds a working lunch, once a month, during our planning session.  However, I think it would be fiscally prudent for Commissioners to either bring their own lunch or break for lunch during those meetings. 

Secondly, it is well known that our Commission and City have an open door policy.  We ensure that every Commission meeting is advertised properly and held in the sunshine as required by law.  However, to allow our residents to view all Commission meetings I would propose that all Commission meetings take place where they can be video recorded.
