SUBJECT:   Applications #04-06-Z, #05-06-CU and 06-06-DB Hallandale Millennium Project (Second Reading)

At the meeting of June 6, 2007, the City Commission approved the First Reading of an Ordinance applying the Planned Development Overlay District (PDD District) to the subject property (Application #04-06-Z).  The Commission also approved Application #05-06-CU for a conditional use permit to allow residential use on CCB (City Central Business) zoned property and a Resolution assigning 179 Residential Flexibility Units to the project.  Approval of the Conditional Use application and the assignment of the Residential Flexibility Units is contingent on the Commission’s approval of the Planned Development Overlay District Ordinance on Second Reading.

Furthermore, the Commission deferred consideration of the Major Development Plan (Application #06-06-DB) to the June 20^th, 2007 Commission Hearing to provide an opportunity for the applicant and staff to resolve pending issues regarding both the proposed Development Plan and the Development Agreement.

Due to the Legislature’s Special Session on Tax Reform, staff has not been able to meet with the applicant to complete negotiations as requested by the City Commission.  Staff expects negotiations to be completed prior to the June 20 Commission meeting and will provide you with an update and further information prior to said meeting.
