SUBJECT: Ordinance Amending Chapter 2 Administration, Article II City Commission, Section 2-31 of the Code of Ordinances, Entitled Compensation and Expenses of City Commission - First Reading

PURPOSE:

The City Commission consider on First Reading an Ordinance amending Section 2-31 of the Code of Ordinances pertaining to Commission compensation and expenses.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:

At the June 6, 2007 Commission meeting, the Commission discussed establishing an annual procedure for considering City Commission compensation and limiting the amount of any increase.  Following discussion, the Commission authorized preparation of an Ordinance amending Section 2-31 of the Code. 

Staff would provide an agenda item with an appropriate Ordinance for consideration on Second Reading.

RECOMMENDATION:

The City Commission consider the Ordinance on First Reading and place the item on a future agenda for Second Reading.
