City Commissioner Anthony A. Sanders


Commissioner Sanders is a native of Hallandale Beach, Florida. Anthony Sanders was appointed to the City Commission by Mayor Joy Cooper, Vice Mayor/Commissioner Bill Julian and Commissioner Dotty Ross after resignation of Commissioner Francine Schiller. Elected as Commissioner in 2008 and selected as Vice Mayor in 2010. He was re-elected to a two-year term in 2012.

Commisssioner Sanders has been married to Jessica for the past nineteen years. He has four sons Shaun, Ashan, A.J. and Jared, two grandsons Shaun Jr. and Jeiel, two brothers Eric George and Clude Sanders and one sister Deidre.


Commissioner Sanders attended B.F. James Elementary, and Hallandale High School - Member of the first graduating class of 1977. He attended Broward Community College,
Moody Bible and Fort Lauderdale Christian University from where he received a Bachelors Degree in Ministry.
